Hello, it’s been 3 months since my last blog, and I apologize for that. Time to bring everyone up to speed.
It was a challenging end to the year, a hectic Christmas and New Year period, and yes, I managed to undo some of my good work and regain some weight. This has been a pattern for me, so it was time to get help. I was recently asked to speak at the Jenny Craig national conference. I saw a video clip featuring Dicko (their current celeb promoting their new Jen4Men weight loss service) and one of his lines went straight to the truth for me… “I can’t loose weight on my own - I have tried. I need a support team!”
As of January 21st, I started the Jen4Men. Five (5) weeks ago I was underway with a new expanded support team. I did have my beautiful wife Karina, along with her personal training background. I still have her as my biggest fan and supportor, and yet, she is too close, and I need her to be a supportive wife, not my personal fitness trainer. I now also have the entire team at Jenny Craig, and my personal condultant helping and supporting me to achieve my permanent shift in lifestyle.
It is now Feb 28th, and I am please to report I am back on track. I have lost 6 kilo’s so far, my energy has improved, my blood pressure is down to 127/75 and I am exercising regularly.
The amazing thing is about the eating program I am on, is that you don’t go hungry. It’s about portion size and eating a well balanced diet. And I love the fact that you eat 6 times a day with snacks in between main meals…. and dessert!
My biggest lessons so far:
1. Portion size is critical - most of us overeat every meal, and beware the standard servings when out… they do not represent the norm. It is essential you break the ‘Clean up your plate’ syndrome you learn’t as a kick. You are literally digging your own grave with your teeth!
2. You must tackle all three parts of the permanent weight loss triad - nutrition, exercise and the mind. My weight loss attempts in the past have only focussed on one or perhaps two - never all three. This time feels different.
Final update… Karina and I are writing a new book purely to equip people with some mind control startegies they can add to their food and exercise approach… Stay tuned…. until next week… get active!
Cheers
